At the time of payment for services from Consultants via 1:1 Consulting and/or the Sunroom membership, Clients accept the following terms and conditions:

Homeschool Consulting

• Homeschool Consulting focuses on developing the Client’s awareness, thinking, and knowledge in order to help the Client identify and achieve his/her homeschooling goals. This type of interaction requires openness and honesty from both Consultants and Clients and may involve many different areas of a Client’s life, including but not limited to curriculum and instructional methods, housework and scheduling, and parenting and discipline.
• In each one-on-one session, the Client chooses the focus of conversation, while the consultant listens and contributes observations and questions leading towards suggested action steps. Group sessions are led by the Consultants and often include time for one-on-one consulting. Consultants draw from their experiences with homeschooling their families, helping other homeschool families, and their research on homeschooling to guide Clients.
• Results are exclusively a matter of the Client’s commitment, intentions, choices, and actions outside of the scheduled one-on-one or group session(s).

Confidentiality

• Consultants have a duty to protect the confidentiality of Client communications. Because all sessions are conducted via email, phone, or Zoom, no absolute confidentiality can be guaranteed. Clients should therefore use discretion when necessary. Confidential information shall mean all personal information regarding the Client or Client’s family members shared by the Client during the scheduled time of his/her session(s). Confidential information does not include information which: the Consultant is required by statute, lawfully issued subpoena, or by court order to disclose; is disclosed to the Consultant and as a result of such disclosure the Consultant reasonably believes there to be an imminent or likely risk of danger or harm to the Client or others; or involves illegal activity. 
• Confidential information shared during one-on-one consulting sessions shall not be shared. Confidential information shared during group consulting sessions shall only be shared with any currently contracted Consultants. Other information shared during any consulting session which is not personal in nature may be shared only among currently contracted Consultants for training purposes, such as opinions on or experiences with materials or methods.
• No transcription, audio, video, AI, or other type of recordings shall be made of 1:1 consulting calls without prior written authorization by both Client and Consultant. Group consulting calls may be recorded for internal Heart of a Mother use; any intended public use of recordings of group calls requires Clients to be informed in advance and at the start of such calls.
• Information shared outside of the scheduled time of a session, such as intake surveys and feedback forms, may be used by Heart of a Mother, LLC for statistical and marketing purposes without naming the Client except when expressly indicated or requested.

Cancellation & Refunds

• All payments for services are non-refundable.
• A 24-hour advance notice is required if Client wishes to reschedule one-on-one sessions. Clients are permitted to reschedule with notice up to two times per session purchased. After three missed appointments, the session fee is forfeited.
• If the Client is more than ten minutes late for a one-on-one session, the Consultant will assume the session is canceled and the Client will forfeit the session fee.

Liability

• Heart of a Mother, LLC provides educational consulting specific to homeschooling. Our Consultants work only within the capacities of educational consulting.
• Heart of a Mother, LLC and all currently contracted Consultants are not and will not be liable or responsible for any actions or inaction, or for any direct or indirect result of any services. In no event shall they be liable to the Client for any punitive, incidental, indirect, consequential or special damages in connection with the Client-Consultant relationship. 
• Consultants do not address marital or psychological issues and recommend counseling or therapy with a certified professional for these concerns. Consultants make no guarantees, representations or warranties of any kind or nature, express or implied with respect to the services rendered.
